FALLING TEARS

When it seems the rain might never stop
and the sun stays hid from view,
Do you suppose what's really falling
are God's tears for me and you?
As we falter and fail in our weakness
we greatly grieve our Lord
So let's give Him praise and glory,
for each teardrop He sends forth.
When He parts the clouds for all to see
and shines the sun on the good and bad,
Then we know that we're forgiven
with open arms He welcomes us back.
God has no limit to what He can do
and His love is a circle without end.
But we must lean upon His promises,
that can't be broken by standing on them.

PRAYER FOR LOVED ONES

Dear Lord watch over my loved ones each day
guide each step, show them the way.
Lord take each care no matter how small.
show them your love covers one and all.
When they grow weary, their soul in despair,
help them Lord, for I know that you care.
If I had my way I'd turn them toward you,
Lord help me to show them your word is true.
Teach them oh Lord how satan comes to steal.
show them Lord that you came to heal.

GIVE ME A SMALL CHURCH

Give me a small church on a quiet country road
nestled among trees by a field thats been sowed.
let it have as its preacher a God fearing man
Who reads from the Bible and tells me God's plan.

Give me a small church that holds just a few
where plain wooden benches serve as the pews.
Let the preacher speak out and not a word hide
in fear of hurting or wounding my pride.

Give me a small church with a bell and steeple
where I can walk in and greet God's people.
Give me a small church with plain windows and doors
one that embraces whether rich or poor.
Let all who enter love Jesus our Lord
He will take us to Heaven if we're in one accord

I'M HERE TO PRAISE HIM

I'm not in church to see what you wear
I'm here to praise the Lord.
And I did't come to see who's here
I came to praise the Lord.
I'm not in church for the scores of a game
I'm here to praise the lord.
And I'm not here because you came
I'm here to praise the lord.
I didn't come to take head-count
I came to praise the Lord
And I'm not here the preacher to denouce
I'm here to praise the Lord.
I'm not in church for companionship
I'm here to praise the Lord.
But I am in church for fellowship
In worshiping together and praising our Lord.

IS THAT ALL WE WANT ?

If our days were filled sunshine
All our nights alight with stars
Would we seek that fairer land
Where we'd never see the dark ?

If all we ever hoped for
Could be gained with just a wish,
Would we always be contented
Or find that something was amiss?

If we were free from pain and sickness
Throughout our stay upon this land
Would we know our soul was perishing
And reach toward that saving hand?

If we never had to shed a tear
Or have a heartache cause us pain
Would we glide right through this life,
Never knowing there was more to gain?

Is that all we want, sunshine and stars?
That does sound perfect for this land.
But we're told in God's word there's more,
And He's holding it in the palm of His hand.

So let's be ever thankful to our loving God
Who lets us have trials we don't understand.
For He knows if our days were perfect
We'd never reach out for His loving hand.

FILL MY DAY

With each new day before me
Help me find someone in need
Let me reach a helping hand
Then Lord you take the lead.

You know what I can give
Or the burden I can share
So please make me a blessing
Let me show someone I care
This supply of love you gave me
When you filled my very soul
Just overflows my being
When I care and don't withhold.
So Lord please fill my day
Let me help someone in need
As I lift these willing hands
Then Lord you take the lead.

ROCK OF AGES

Sometimes I'm lonely but I'm never alone
I talk to my Lord,He's still on the throne.
Even though I can't see Him with my eyes
I know His loving presence is by my side.
Jesus understands what loneliness can be
He felt it Himself in the Garden of Gethsemane.
Though a crowd surrounded Him there on the cross
It wasn't in fellowship, but to mock and scoff.
Now that long ago day has put me in the place
Of living in His presence under Mercy and Grace.
On the sea of life God is the buoy
Through loneliness,laughter,tears,and joy.
What did I do to receive this and more?
I know I did nothing,It's the love of the Lord.
And the more I read His written pages
The better I'll get to know the ROCK OF AGES

NO OTHER WAY

God helps those who helps themselves
It is not in the Bible,it's not a verse.

God helps those who can't help themselves
So the good news is,it's quite the reverse.
Born wretched and poor, blind and naked
Without divine help we will not make it.
A go-it-alone attitude might be your stand
But God can not fill those tightly closed hands.
Jesus is knocking, won't you please let him in?
When we were uttlerly helpless He paid for our sins.
He is the way,the truth, and the life
There is no way to God But through Jesus Christ
.

THE FOOL

The fool despises and scorns God's wisdom
he's right in his eyes so he won't listen.
The fool makes a mockery of sin which is death
his conscience is withered, there's nothing left.
The fool shouts in anger,he spills his mind
his words once released, cause harm, they malign.
The fool loves mischief,to him it's great fun
he thinks nought of the person to whom it was done.
The fool uses his mouth to curse and profane
he builds himself up,on others lays blame.
The fool trusts his thinking, his own insight
he can't be corrected,he knows he's right.
The fool is so blind,he lives in the dark
he must on this world make his mark.
The fool says in his heart,"There is no God"
but he will wish one day God's word he had sought.

I MET HIM AT THE ALTAR

When I first met Jesus at the altar
God's boundless love to receive
I was blessed with a joyful spirit
And my burdens He did relieve.

As I asked Him into my life
My heart swelled with jubilation
To be assured of His grace and love
I could weather all tribulation.

As I recall those first new feelings
And I think how He's directed my way
To renew my strength and give God praise
I dwell at the altar each day.

ARE YOU GUILTY ??

Suppose you were arrested for being a Christian
Would evidence be against you, enough for conviction?
Do you follow God's word, all His commandments?
Surrendered your life unto His providence?
Have you accepeted Jesus Christ His only begotten Son?
Been telling others your life has begun?
Does your heart cry out to glorify His name?
Always ready to witness without pride or shame?
Do you bow on your knees in prayer for others?
Forgetting about self, showing care for your brothers?
Do you give to God's work in tithes and time?
Tell how He's blessed you, that His word is divine?
Do you admit your life was empty till Jesus came in?
And thank Him each day for redeeming your sins?
When you're born again Christ lives in your heart,
Let the world convict you, from Him do not part.
If this little verse tells your soul to plead guilty,
Look forward to Heaven where you'll spend eternity.

THE PRICE IS PAID

We all like sheep have gone astray,
We have turned each one to his own way**
But God so loved His divine creation,
He gave His son Jesus for the worlds salvation
As great drops of blood flowed down His face
He lovingly delivered God's saving grace.
Doing the will of His Father He gave His all,
The priceless blood shed was an altar call.
He bore all our sins in that bitter cup,
But just as He said,God raised Him up.
It can't be measured, the room at the cross,
It's an endless ark to all who are lost.
While many do believe on the Son of God,
Still others choose to believe Him not.
The Savior's invitation still stands today,
Jesus is asking you to come, the price is paid.

*ISAIAH 53:6

SOMETHING TO LIVE FOR

My Lord puts the smiles upon my face
We share deep love, to Him I give praise.
Each day of my life I have God's touch
There are no words to thank Him enough.

My Lord puts a spring into each step
I give Him the glory,His words Have depth.
He Picked me Up when my feet were slipping,
Someday I'll walk beside him in the land of the living.

My Lord keeps me singing, He puts a song in my heart
The words, the melody,as sweet as the harp,
He was wounded for me,and now I understand
I'll worship in His temple, not built by human hands.

BLESSINGS

I can count the blessings from my Lord
And each time I count I find there's more.
He takes the days that could be so gray,
And sends His love to shine my way.
Any time I feel weak and the day is long,
He gives me courage,He makes me strong.
I may see Him through haze, but He hears my prayers
And I'm blessed each day with His tender care.
He has taken me through many trials and tribulations
But the greatest gift of all was my salvation.

HIS NAME IS JESUS

The Lord didn't give me my life to waste
To miss its point in too much haste.
He showed me all I had to gain
If in my life I'd let Him reign.
Now He's walking by my side
My best listener my best guide.

I have a friend who hears me pray
As dawn breaks over each new day.
Without His blessings before I begin
I could not make it to each days end.
He gives me the day to use as I will
And all His commandments I pray to fulfill.

I know the Lord has me in His plan
To be used anytime, anywhere He can
The debt I owe I could never pay
And my love for Him shall never fade.
Jesus welcomed me to the family of God,
On that great day I want to see His forward nod.

HIS LOVE WILL PERFECT

Somebody loves us more than we know
And watches over us wherever we go.

God knows us so well, well enough to care
About our whole being, even the count of our hair.
He knows our wants, but even better our needs
We're heirs to His riches by having faith to believe.
He is slow to get angry, so loving,so kind

Ask and it's given, seek and we find.
His thoughts are upon us every second of the day
For He is the potter, and we are the clay.
How loving and patient God surely must be,
Always working to perfect that which concerns me.

GOD WAS THERE

I took a walk through rustling leaves

ablaze with every color.

I saw the touch of God in this

He paints with such great splendor.

In the shadow of a big oak tree

I saw some deer at play

God gave them graceful beauty

just for my eyes this day

I lingered by a waterfall

the sound just thrilled my soul

Again I knew it was God's touch

He caused the steady flow.

I wandered high upon a hill

and my spirit did embrace

What God had planned for me to see

that He was there in place.

SPIRITUAL FRUIT

Love is given for us to share
to show others that we care
Joy is bliss down in our soul
much more precious than silver and gold
Faith is our key to safety
keep it for great serenity.
Peace in our hearts we embrace
we receive it by God's grace.
Parience He will teach us
so all our anxiety ceases.
Gentleness must be our nature
its worth cannot be measured.
Goodness is a prized virtue
let it flow freely from within you.
Meekness is our promise of life
Nothing can equal its size.
Temperance we can't live without
our Lord will lead and show us how.

GOD'S MERCY

Our Lord is forever on a search
to gather in His sheep.
He seeks, finds, and forgives us
Casting our sins in the sea so deep.

We know our Lord is always there
to hear our troubled call.
We feel the love in His tender care
as He picks us up when our spirits fall.

I wonder why we wait so long
(although we're so unworthy)
To let him cleanse away our wrongs
to accept His bountiful mercy.

BEYOND THE CROSS

We must live each day in the shadow of the cross
with its loving arms outstretched
Remembering the pain and the blood Jesus lost
that we be mightily blessed.
The cross appeared to be a crushing defeat
those hundreds of years ago
But Sunday came with our savior complete
after paying the debt He did not owe.
On the cross He provided all the world would need
for this life and the one beyond
And it's in God's book for us to see
Jesus built the road for His people to go home on.

IF GOD DIDN'T CARE

If God didn't care for His own
He could lock up Heaven's gate
What a sad lot we would be
For He then would seal our fate.
If God hadn't loved His creation
And unselfishly provided the way
We'd be lost and never find
The sense of eternal sway.
If God didn't give life anew
Washing us clean as the whitest snow
What reason would we have for living
Unbidden, His love not to know.
If God didn't deal in the impossible
Never failing to calm the storm
Then His promise would go unfulfilled
Leaving us a helpless,hopeless,form.
If He didn't see souls worth saving
And through His spirit make it known
We would never know real joy
If God didn't care for his own.

THE ANSWER IS IN THE CROSS

Often-times I wonder
why God puts up with me
There's oh so many others
with whom I know He's pleased.

The many times I've stumbled
He reached out His loving hand
And pulled me safely to Him
because He understands.

My faults are high in number
but God does not keep count
If I know and ask forgiveness
my faults He helps me to surmount.

So when I get to wondering
why He does put up with me
The Cross is all the answer
I will ever truly need.

WHERE ARE THE BLOSSOMS

How many times have we nurtured a plant hoping it will bloom as
the book says it will? We watch and tend it every day and while it
stays green and appears to be growing, we keep up the loving
care. But when it's time for the plant to bring forth its expected
blossoms and they don't appear, what do we do? Too many times
we get discouraged and throw the plant away.

Let's think of the plant as ourselves. What if our Lord was as easily

discouraged? Thank God for the keeping love of Jesus! How many
times He must be disappointed in our growth. How often we
should burst forth in blossom in our Christian walk, but remain an
undeveloped bud. But does God cast us aside? No! He knows our
weaknesses, and He lovingly nurtures us spiritually back to health to
become the blossoming branch of the true vine. Just as the plant
will not bloom without loving care, we as frail beings cannot blos
som without God's word and His never ending care.

God is calling us into the fold
Holding the life that belongs to our soul.
If over and over God does His work
Why should we faint our duties shirk?
Let's do our tasks and do them well
We'll be rewarded and with Him dwell.

IN DUE SEASON WE SHALL REAP IF WE FAINT NOT Gal. 6:9

A LITTLE TALK

When I waken at night, can't fall back to sleep
My thoughts turn to Jesus, I'm in His keep.
In the silence of the night lying quietly in bed,
I think of some prayers I left unsaid.
In just a short while I feel such peace
A little talk with Jesus lulls me to sleep.
And when I awake I know He's there
Waiting to hear my morning prayer.
And throughout the day we have little talks,
For Jesus stays with me on each daily walk.

IN HIS HANDS

If today brought with it some pain or sorrow
there's one who will bring a better tomorrow.
He's our maker, our master, our Prince of Peace
He wants to take over, our burdens to ease.
He's climbed all our mountains, He never stopped
His promise is to take us over the top.
Let's give Him our life then let Him lead,
our heart, our soul, our spirit to feed.
We can go on our own, make all our plans
just remember the outcome is in God's hands.

GODS WORD

For the well lighted path leading to glory
God shows us the way in a beautiful story.
The book by name is the HOLY BIBLE,
Read it,use it,it isn't fragile.
The words therein become our sword
And behind every word stands Jesus our Lord.
Have you ever wondered where you would be
If Jesus hadn't suffered to set us free?
When He bowed on the cross and cried "It's Finished",
He redeemed you and me,our lives He replenished
.

THOSE BLESSED TROUBLES

Through a dreary life I stumbled, each day I plodded on
Each night I'd cry for tomorrow to bring a brighter dawn.
And as the days wore on I fell deeper in despair
For the tomorrow's did come, my troubles still there.
I knew that I needed a fresh new start
But I didn't know it was Jesus tugging at my heart.
I had learned about God in my childhood years
But I had turned away, I had closed my ears.
Now I've called on His name,I've come to my senses
He wanted to help me,all He asked was repentance.
Those blessed troubles you let come my way
Dear Lord I must thank you the rest of my days.
Your love and grace have blessed me with life,
It took those many troubles to open my eyes.
I've been redeemed forever I'll speak out,
Of your almighty power there is no doubt.
You reached out your hand, drew me gently to your side
And wiped away tears I was trying to hide.
I now have the answer when troubles come my way,
I call upon Jesus without delay.
